Women’s combinations to be tested at Racice 2014

A long winter’s training is at an end for GB Canoeing’s sprint team which heads off today for its first international events of 2014.

At first look the women’s team Britain is sending to back to back World Cup events in Racice and Szeged looks the same as a year ago.  The difference is in the events the athletes will be competing in.

“We’ve made a number of changes,” explains GB Canoeing’s Senior Women’s Technical Coach, Paul Darby-Dowman, emphasising that the World Cups are an extension of the plan that will lead to the main occasion of the Moscow World Championships in August.

“The season is based around being the best we can on that one weekend so everything we do, including the World Cups, is about preparing for Moscow.
